We are pleased to share an update on the projects that we are undertaking with your generous support.

ABC Project – Supporting Rural Government Schools

As you know, our chapter has been supporting rural government schools through the ABC Project, an initiative focused on providing additional academic support to students who need it most, along with periodic soft-skills training for high school students.

The ABC Project is currently being implemented in 110 schools across Tamil Nadu. Our chapter has recently added a third school to our program, and we now support the following three schools:

  • Government High School, Melanethur, Sivagangai District
  • Government High School, Rakkiyapalayam, Tirupur District
  • Government High School, Ayyappanayakkanpettai, Ariyalur District


Women's Empowerment Project – Ariyalur

We have also recently launched a Women's Empowerment Project in Ariyalur, in collaboration with the Apparel Training & Design Center (ATDC), a nodal agency of the Government of India's Ministry of Textiles.

Through this initiative, 60 women from underserved communities will receive training over a nine-month period in garment design and production. The goal is not only to provide them with practical, marketable skills, but also to help them establish small-scale businesses and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.

None of these initiatives would be possible without the generosity and continued support of our donors and supporters. Last year, we had a phenomenal fundraising event and raised more than $50,000, enabling us to expand our impact in the communities we serve.

A Musical Evening

We are pleased to share that, thanks to the collective efforts of our donors, TNF-Pittsburgh has raised sufficient funds to support two schools. The suggestions for these schools came directly from our dedicated donors, and we are thrilled to announce that TNF’s flagship project, aimed at uplifting slow learners, has been inaugurated at the following two schools:

  • Government High School, Melanethur, Sivagangai District
  • Government High School, Rakkiyapalayam, Tirupur District
Our goals for these initiatives are:

  • To help as many students as possible transition from the slow learners group to the grade-level proficiency group.
  • To encourage and support underprivileged children in reaching their aspirations.
  • To provide counseling and guidance for their higher education.


We are committed to keeping you updated on the progress of these schools as we work toward these goals.
